Attica Zip Assistant v2.0
A couple of important points to know in order to
properly use Attica Zip Assistant is contained in
this short file. It should be read before running
AZA.
Attica Zip Assistant is NOT a stand alone program.
In order for it to function it must have access to
PKZIP and PKUNZIP. These excellent shareware programs
may be obtained on most BBS's and registered through
PKware.
To install Attica Zip Assistant, simply make the sub-
directory where you want it to be located.
Example: MD C:\AZA
Next, put the diskette into drive A:, and then copy
all of the files to the target subdirectory.
Example: COPY A:*.* C:\AZA
At this point, make sure you are in the target sub-
directory by typing CD\AZA. Then execute the
program by typing AZA.
The first time AZA is run it will automatically run
setup. Simply answer the questions presented
and setup is complete. It asks for the complete
pathname of where AZIPA.EXE is located and also for the
pathname of where PKZIP.EXE and PKUNZIP.EXE is located.
Next, enter the full pathname where a temporary file
may be located. This temporary file is the AZA image
that is created when PKZIP or PKUNZIP is called. It
should be placed in a subdirectory that will not be
zipped with *.* as the search specification. If this
is done, the temporary file will be caught in the zip.
A good place for this is probably the same place where
Attica Zip Assistant is located. Next, enter the full
pathname where AZA.BAT should be created. This is the
batch file by which Attica Zip Assistant should always
be executed. It uses the information in Setup to
initialize needed parameters. It should be located in
a subdirectory that is in the path statement of the
AUTOEXEC.BAT file. The last entry is to select a viewer.
You may enter the name and path of your favorite viewer.
After setup is completed Attica Zip Assistant should
always be executed by typing AZA.
To understand the command structure of the program it is
necessary to read PKware's documentation for PKZIP and
PKUNZIP.
Thank you for making this user supported software program
a great success. AZA will be updated when a new version
of PKZIP is released.
